Meet your groomer

Mary Sladek is a devoted pet groomer with over three decades of experience in working with dogs. Mary’s #1 motto is “humanity over vanity.” Mary is extremely knowledgeable about animal health issues, and her priority is the comfort and wellbeing of your pet.

Before moving to Atlanta in 2001, Mary lived in Illinois where she attended Eastern Illinois University and studied Animal Science. Her experience with animals includes pet sitting, working at several pet stores, managing a boarding kennel, and volunteering at the Humane Society. Once in Atlanta, Mary focused on her love of dogs and took a position at a grooming salon where she apprenticed and quickly learned she had something special to offer the dog grooming world. Mary mastered all breeds of dog grooming as well as creative grooming to the owners preference. Mary has over two decades of experience as a professional pet groomer. Mary is an AKC S.A.F.E. Certified Groomer and is certified by The American Red Cross in Cat and Dog First Aid.

In 2008, Mary opened The Fuzzy Dawg in Johns Creek. Over the years The Fuzzy Dawg has employed over a dozen people.

In 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Mary decided having a busy storefront was no longer the ideal business model. Mary decided to return to what she loves the most, taking care of her clients and focusing 100% of her time and attention to them. An intimate salon located within her home was the perfect solution and “At Home with The Fuzzy Dawg” was born. The Fuzzy Dawg LLC is a licensed home based business with the City of Peachtree Corners and is fully insured for you and your pets safety.

Mary and her husband Scott share their home with their rescue dog Oskar, and their cats: Capitan, Lieutenant Dan, Turtle, Roger, Jeffrey, Mouse and Forrest.
